A bit about me...
I am so very grateful for the many opportunities that have opened up for me since my first book was released in 2013. I have been invited to speak at conferences and read from my book. I have especially enjoyed meeting with book clubs in person and through Skype or Face Time. I've discovered that I really enjoy story-telling as well as writing and it has been an honor to be the featured story teller at a few venues. For the last year, I have hosted an Open Mic for writers and performers. I love the way everyone who comes up to the microphone shares a bit of themselves with the rest of us. I have begun to offer writing workshops. Through all of these experiences, I've met many writers and discovered that no matter where we are on our creative journey, we share a lot in common.
I enjoy speaking to audiences of all sorts, including students! One of my favorite topics is Finding Your Voice.
Please contact me if you are looking for a speaker for your next event.
I formed my opinions about life at an early age and they haven’t really changed much since then – I believe war does not create lasting solutions, love will be the real revolution, and the human heart can expand until it holds love for the whole world.
I have been a teacher, a newspaper columnist, a bank teller, a house cleaner, an executive director of a non-profit dedicated to education advocacy, a diversity trainer, an education consultant, an AIDS activist, a group facilitator, and a waitress...whatever it took to raise 5 kids and remain true to my values.
My kids are grown now and I have 5 grandkids, a wonderful husband and a mother who lives with us and is 98 years old.
I can’t carry a tune, but I love to sing and don’t know any steps, but I love to dance! I LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! One of the best aspects of my writing life is all the wonderful people my book has brought into my life. Feel free to contact me with thoughts, ideas or suggestions.
